PERSONAL UPDATE

As you may be aware from reading about me on this website I have had a few years of worrying about my health. I have had to cope with dealing with Melanoma, for which I have recovered from three major surgeries. Each stage of recovery has brought about new challenges and my body and I have been learning to adapt to these changes. One of these changes being Lymphoedema in one of my legs. One set of nodes has been removed which means I will always have fluid build up in that leg. To help with this I have support tights to wear everyday and they do help a lot. This is just one example of the way my body has changed, but I have also had to deal with  permanent surgery scarring too. I have been lucky though and have accepted and embraced the new me. It has made me stronger. Why am I bringing this up? Well I just wanted to give you an update. I have recently come off some tablets which I was taking to ward off any lurking cancer cells that might be in my body. I am clear of Melanoma at the minute but was put on tablets just to make sure. These tablets made me very tired and foggy headed(one of the side effects), so I haven't been up to speed with many things, including my Artwork and this website, for the past year. I am taking it slowly, but just wanted to share this with you as I have many things I need to catch up on and so many plans already! Watch this space. Niki:)

Book Illustration - A few watercolour studies and drawings of ideas. It's been hard work and as I've been involved in other projects this has taken a back seat. I'm continuing to develop ideas now, so hopefully I will reach the finish line this year (2023). I have finally finished the narrative!

BOOK ILLUSTRATION

Drawings for book Illustrations. Just developing ideas at the moment to see which ideas work best. As it's for a children's book I want to keep it as simple as possible, but educational and inspirational as well.
